What are the benefits of a membership with the Chamber?
Each Fall, over a hundred local businessmen and women step out of their offices and sally up to the grill for the Basin BBQ Blowout. Teams (most from companies outside the food industry) compete in one or more of the following categories: Best Chicken, Best Ribs, Best Brisket, and Best “Other” Meat. Another event, Entrepreneur of the Year, emphasizes the importance of Odessa’s small business community. Additionally, the Odessa Chamber of Commerce inducts one or more individuals into the Business Hall of Fame. The annual Chamber Challenge Golf Tournament combines informal networking and a great day of golf at one of the local golf courses and the Annual Banquet, held in September, highlights the hard work of our board, volunteers and members.
Professional Development & Networking
There are a variety of networking and professional development events throughout the year. Each month the Chamber’s Business After Hours provides members with an opportunity to meet 75 plus business and professional people in an informal networking setting. These events, always sponsored by Chamber members, provide attendees with the opportunity to exchange cards, discuss business, and meet new potential business partners.
The Odessa Chamber of Commerce can help your business increase visibility with locals and visitors. Chamber member listings are published annually in the Membership Directory/Guide to Odessa and the Chamber directs incoming calls requesting information on specific products and services to members only. Our website features an online directory where people can search by category or name. Visitors are also able to link to your website from the listing.
Future leaders are brought together through the yearly Leadership Odessa program. The program brings together Odessa’s best and brightest business talents to help educate them about our great city. Participants meet once a month for nine months as they prepare to become the leaders of tomorrow. There are also numerous Committees and Task Forces formed from the Chamber’s membership. These groups address specific issues of importance to local businesses and are an ideal way for members to meet others with similar interests.
