The Odessa Chamber of Commerce and its board of directors and employees are heartbroken with the tragic events that occurred in our city on August 31. This senseless tragedy has shaken us at our foundation. But, as Odessans, we pull together in our time of need. Job Title:                    Housing Development Coordinator

Organization:            Odessa Chamber of Commerce Operations Department

Primary Function:    Lead the work to address workforce housing issues in Odessa  


Facilitate discussions and activity with various governmental, non-profit and private entities to create and expedite solutions both short term and long term to increase and expand housing opportunity efforts in Odessa primarily related to workforce housing needs for employees in the public and service sectors.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  A bachelor’s degree in a related field (urban planning, public administration, non-profit administration, real estate, finance or law) is preferred and a master’s degree is strongly desired.  In lieu of education, 10 years of experience working in this field would be considered.

Job Title: Membership Development Specialist

The Odessa Chamber of Commerce is seeking an ambitious, results-driven sales professional to promote the positive aspects of chamber involvement and secure new membership and sponsorship sales.  Key attributes are highly motivated, competitive spirit, coachability, relationship builder and drive to manage time effectively and achieve established goals.


Prospect, research and engage prospective member businesses via initial telephone contact

  • Assess prospective member needs and motivations to make appropriate connections to chamber programs and resources
  • Consistently achieve all monthly sales activity and production minimums.
  • Actively leverage upselling of membership and sponsorships to drive new revenue and deeper member engagement.
  • Develop and maintain a quality prospective member list


 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.  3+ years’ experience in a business development, sales, fundraising or industry environment are a must.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated skills in taking initiative, problem-solving, negotiating and driving results.
  • Effective communication skills
