2016 Business Hall of Fame Honorees

Terry Bryant

Terry Bryant Jones Bros. Dirt & Paving Contactors, Inc.

Terry Bryant has worked hard for his business accomplishments. He graduated from Tarleton State University, where he then went to work for TXDOT. In 1985, Bryant started working as an estimator and project manager at Jones Bros. Dirt & Paving, which offers services that range from highway construction to commercial site work and runways.

Bros. Dirt & Paving was originally founded in 1952, and employs more than 300 employees today, which includes second and third generation employees. Its company mission is to provide customers with a high quality product, safely, on time, and within budget. Bryant was an active in Texas Good Road & Transportation Services, and a past president for the AGC of Texas. Bryant was also awarded honorary Co-Chairmen from the Business Advisory Council and the National Leadership Award.

Terry and wife Beverly have been married for 46 years. They have two children: Stacey Wayne Bryant, and Bonnie Lynn Bloom; and four granddaughters.

Mike Forrest

Mike Forrest Forrest Tire

Mike Forrest was born and raised in Carlsbad, New Mexico. In 1980, Forrest graduated from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor’s in University Studies. In 1985, Mike moved to Odessa where he opened up Forrest Tire, a fourth generation family owned business. Forrest Tire employs 72 individuals and provides an array of services from brake shocks and alignment, to tire sales and services. Its company mission is to “provide great service at a fair price.”

Forrest has served on the board for Grow Odessa, the Odessa Youth Baseball Association, and currently serves on the FUMC Advisory Board. Forrest was born into the business. In addition to being the owner and founder of Forrest Tires, he is also the owner of Fabco Industries in Odessa, the Marriot Fairfield and La Quinta Inn of Carlsbad, and a partner for the Mesquite SWD Inc. Oil Wells and Leases in Texas. Forrest is and wife Jo has been married for 36 years. Together they have three children: Michael, Lee, and Ross. Mike has six grandchildren.

Ronnie Jones

Ronnie Jones Jones Bros. Dirt & Paving Contactors, Inc.

Ronnie Jones, owner of Jones Bros. Dirt & Paving Contractors, Inc. found his passion at an early age. While attending Bonham Jr. High, Jones began working summers for Jones Bros. After graduating from Permian High School, Jones dove into the business, and began working full-time for the construction company.

Jones Bros. Dirt & Paving was started by Barney (B.R.) Jones and Earl (E.N.) Jones in 1952. Soon after, their four brothers joined, R.L Slim Jones, Bobby Jones, JW (Curly) Jones and Troy Jones. Following their involvement with the business, Jones Bros. took off and remains a successful business 64 years later. Today, Jones Bros. employs 300 individuals, many of which are second and third generation employees.

Jones Bros. is a divine example of a tradition that has stands strong in Odessa. It continues to uphold the values it established centuries ago, and serves its customers with the upmost respect and concern. Ronnie Jones and his wife Kathy have been married for 12 years. Jones has two children: Scott Jones and Rea Storie, and five beautiful grandchildren.

Mike Withrow

Mike Withrow Basin Abstract & Title

Mike Withrow, an Austin, Texas native, graduated from the University of Texas in 1981 with a bachelor’s in business management. Withrow is one of the proud owners of Basin Abstract & Title, full-service real estate title company that serves home buyers and sellers throughout Ector County, Texas Its company philosophy is to make the purchase of homes an enjoyable and positive experience by individuals.

Prior to opening the Basin Abstract & Title in 2005, Withrow was drafted to play professional baseball for the Chicago White Sox in 1981. In 1984, Withrow got into the title insurance business where he worked for companies in Austin, San Marcos, and Odessa.
Withrow has volunteered as a baseball coach for many years in the Odessa-Midland communities. He is also an active board member of Grow Odessa, and the Odessa Housing Finance Corporation. Mike has been married to wife Judy for 33 years, and has children: Chris, Steve, and Matt. Mike has one grandchild, Walker, who is 2 years-old; and another baby girl due in April.
